About Me

Not So! Daily Paintings
I started doing daily paintings in March 2008, inspired to see if I could join DailyPainters.com. While I wasn't successful in that venture, I have enjoyed starting a blogsite, tackling the challenge of posting almost daily, and sharing my paintings with friends and family. Now I'm looking forward to painting some larger pieces, which I'll post in stages. Thanks for keeping in touch! Cheers, Susan For purchase information, please contact me at susanbmarlowe.com.

Gaggledelic

This is a 20" x 20" acrylic painting on wood support inspired by walks around Bass Lake, watching the geese swim amongst and below the waterlilies! This painting was just accepted in the Best of the Blue Ridge show, opening this evening in West Jefferson!

"What We Need is Here"

This is my 36" x 36" entry to a juried show entitled "Memory of Appalachia"...my version of a painted quilt.

Written in the top circle is a poem by Wendell Berry:
"What We Need is Here"

"Geese appear high over us,
pass, and the sky closes. Abandon,
as in love or sleep, holds
them to their way, clear
in the ancient faith: what we need
is here. And we pray, not
for new earth or heaven, but to be
quiet in heart, and in eye, clear. What we need is here."

Cheers,
Susan
